Meet Kimberly Severn

At Capital Women’s Care - Bethesda, Kimberly Severn, a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), provides gynecological services and midwifery to women in and around Bethesda, Maryland. Kimberly worked as a labor and delivery nurse and has years of experiencing caring for both high and low-risk obstetrical patients.

Kimberly grew up in rural Pennsylvania and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN). After working in labor and delivery, she followed her passion and enrolled in George Mason University masters program for nursing. After graduating with her MSN, she attended Emory University, where she received training in midwifery.

Throughout her tenure as a nurse-midwife, Kimberly became the Director of Midwifery at Columbia Hospital for Women. She then decided to go into private practice, where she has spent over 20 years helping patients deliver babies. She currently delivers at Sibley Memorial Hospital.

Aside from delivering babies, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys, especially helping at school and church. She also enjoys playing the piano and sewing.
